February 2022: FAIFLEY TENANTS VOTE 'YES' TO TRANSFER TO CALEDONIA
A huge thank you to Faifley tenants who voted recently. The results are in – and Faifley tenants have resoundingly backed the proposed transfer to Caledonia HA with 95.6% voting YES to the proposal. An impressive 70.2% of tenants taking the opportunity to cast their vote and make their voice heard.
Caledonia is now getting ready to start delivering on the promises made to Faifley tenants including a 5 year rent freeze, additional investment in homes and the local environment, which will continue to be delivered by the local staff team based in Faifley.
The proposed transfer is on track to take place on 1 April 2022.

I’m getting in touch to ask for your help.
The tenant ballot on the proposal to transfer Faifley Housing Association to Caledonia Housing Association closes on 7 February 2022, and we still have lots of tenants who have not cast their vote.
This is just a reminder that the transfer and all the benefits we have secured from Caledonia cannot be delivered unless we have a strong YES vote from Faifley tenants. |
The transfer offer to tenants includes a great package containing the following:
- A 5 year rent freeze
- Increased planned maintenance investment in your home
- Investment in environmental and estate improvements
- Support for a local tenants representative group
Please help us deliver this for you by casting your vote now. Staff from Faifley and Caledonia will be visiting you to help you vote.
Replacement ballot papers were sent out this week in case you had misplaced yours. Voting is really easy to do by following this link www.cesvotes.com/fhatransfer2022 - you’ll just need your unique voting ID numbers to hand.
The ballot is open until 5pm on Monday 7 February so you still have time to use your vote.
If you have voted recently please ignore this reminder and thank you for taking part in the ballot.
Regards
Catherine Lowe
Interim Director
The Ballot on the proposed Transfer of Faifley HA to Caledonia HA is now open and you should have received your voting pack directly from CES. The Ballot will run until Monday 7 February.
We’d like to encourage all tenants to use your vote and take part in the Ballot. Staff from Faifley and Caledonia will be out and about this week if you have any questions about the ballot process or if you need assistance to post your ballot paper– please get in touch.
Stage 2 Notice
After issuing the Stage 1 Notice at the start of November we visited every home and managed to engage with over 80% of Faifley tenants through door to door visits, comments cards, emails and tenants meetings. Thank you all for taking the time to speak to us and give us feedback on the transfer proposals.
There was overwhelming support for the transfer and the package on offer. The stage 2 notice will be sent out advising you of this and telling you about the next stage of the transfer process.
In early January we will be sending out a Pre Ballot Notice which will remind you of the transfer offer, provide feedback on the key points that came up in the consultation, and give you details of the ballot process. After this you will receive ballot papers directly from Civica Election Services, the independent organisation that will be running the Tenant Ballot. The ballot will start on Monday 10 January and run to Monday 7 February.’
Pre Ballot Notice
A Pre Ballot Notice has now been sent out to all tenants following completion of the consultation stage of the transfer process. The notice provides information on the transfer proposals and also includes responses to the ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ you raised with us during the consultation period.
Having reviewed the feedback from the consultation, and positive responses from tenants, the Management Committee are urging tenants to vote yes and back the transfer when voting opens on 10 January.
